Thermocouple extension cables are used between the thermocouple and measuring device. Each thermocouple type has its own cables, the most common thermocouple types J, K, T, E, N, T, T/S and U.  Copper cables must not be used between the sensor and measuring device, as the measurement result will then vary depending on the ambient temperature. Cable thickness is not otherwise significant except from the viewpoint of mechanical strength when using electronic measuring instruments.

For high ambient temperatures (range -100…+200 °C) we offer a shielded model JHFF.

For high distances or noisy environments we recommend the use of cables with screening shielding, such as the commonly used type JHAS.
