SKY transmitters – LoRa
The Sky devices use the Semtech LoRa modulation technique that allows unforeseen wireless range in a battery powered transmitter. The protocol used is defined by Nokeval, called Sky, which means that this device is not compatible with the LoRaWAN infrastructure. Our development team designs devices also for LoRaWAN network.
The modulation has some parameters to define its operation. With the “maximal” settings, a very long range can be reached, but at the expense of high battery and radio band consumption. One radio transmission can last approx. 2 seconds (compared to 20 ms of the Nokeval MTR series). This means that the number of transmitters within the range must be limited in order to avoid collisions and to allow radio time for each. It is not practical to use a short interval between transmissions; 10 to 30 minutes is the recommended interval range. For more frequent intervals, we recommend MTR Transmitters.

Nokeval’s MTR transmitters consist of a radio transmitter module, a measurement module and a whip-antenna. The radio frequency of the transmitters is 433.92 MHz.
FT10 – temperature and humidity measurements
The design and construction of the device ensures high measuring accuracy and stability along with outstanding durability and resistance against adverse environmental conditions. The device includes 433.92 MHz radio transmitter and detachable whip-antenna which enables transmissions even out of closed steel cabinets and other difficult targets. Separately ordered Pt100 and Pt1000 sensors can be connected via gland to internal connector. To achieve the best cable sensor accuracy and ease of connection we recommend using 4-wire cable sensors.
The measuring module recommended calibration period is two years. The calibration agreement is offered as an additional service. The service includes replacement measurement modules delivered automatically when the calibration date is approaching. The replacement modules are changed to the places of the measurement modules that are currently in use. This prevents breaks in measurement cost-effectively. For users in need of extreme accuracy we can offer calibration of the measurement module and the sensor together, when both the measurement module and the sensor need to be sent to us. The battery is also changed together with calibration, though it would have power left even for several years to come.
The device fulfills the mechanical and measuring accuracy requirements of the EN 13485 standard. It also conforms to the requirements of the standards EN 13486 and EN 12830 where applicable.
The wireless concept allows easy implementation, installation and expansion of a measuring system even in difficult locations and installation sites. The transmitters are programmable for transmission intervals from 5 seconds to 5 minutes.

Wireless transmitters that have universal input and can be powered using batteries or 24 VDC power supply. They are housed in a field enclosure (IP65) and equipped with detachable screw post connectors for inputs and power supply.
The transmitter is programmable for transmission intervals from 5 seconds to 5 minutes and for the following inputs: Pt100, Ni, Cu, universal thermocouple (mV cold junction temperature), ohms, millivolts, milliamperes and volts up to 100 VDC.
FTR264 is a 4 channel thermocouple wireless transmitter, which is meant for close range use. The transmitter has internal circuit board antenna for a radio coverage area of up to 100 meters in free space. Enclosure protection class is IP65. With cost effect thermocouple sensors tiny targets (0,5 mm), high temperatures and targets with high mechanical stress can be measured. Typical use is temperature measurement in casting concrete process. With temperature acquired it is possible to calculate concrete strength and the time when the wooden sheathing around can be removed. Alarms may also be utilized in case of the threat of freezing.

The receivers receive and buffer to their memory the data packages the transmitters send. They automatically recognize the types of the transmitters, so different kinds of transmitters can be used simultaneously.
Flex-Sky-Link-RS485 is a data receiver for Nokeval Sky 433 MHz wireless data transmission technology. It receives and buffers the data packets that Sky transmitters have sent.
Receiver for wireless transmitters in a field enclosure. The device has RS-232, RS-485 and USB interfaces and internal memory for up to 150.000 measurements.
Nokeval base stations have an internal battery backup to cover for short power failures; it can last for up to 4 days, depending on conditions. They also have a buffer memory to store collected data during times there is no network service over its integrated mobile data connection (2G or 3G). Rugged, splash-proof (IP65 rated) enclosure keeps the devices safe also in more challenging conditions.
Cell collects all measurement data from SKY transmitters and dispatches it to Ovaport web service. It features a radio receiver for wireless transmitters in SKY series and an RS485 interface with highly configurable Modbus RTU bus-master. The Modbus RTU bus-master can be used to collect data from several Modbus RTU slaves.
